while my wife and i were on vacation in paris, we came upon the pont des arts (bridge of arts), a pedestrian bridge near the louvre. i immediately thought “this is a table.”

i had been working with wood to this point, but knew this table needed to be made of metal.  upon returning to chicago, i enrolled in the chicago fine arts school specifically to learn welding so I could make the table as it should be made. when the 190 north team, a chicago tv news program that features local interests, places and talent, visited the welding school and wanted to interview me and feature the piece on the program, i knew this piece realized my original vision.
